An interactive map of Oklahoma's core oil & gas plays — the SCOOP, STACK, and MERGE of central Oklahoma and the deeper Anadarko Basin to the west — and the counties where Buckhead Energy buys mineral rights and royalties.
Approximate basin extent and selected counties shown for orientation — not a survey or title map. Click a county to open its mineral-rights page.
Oklahoma's modern horizontal activity centers on three named plays in the greater Anadarko Basin. The SCOOP (South Central Oklahoma Oil Province) runs through Grady, Stephens, Garvin, and Carter counties; the STACK (Sooners Trend, Anadarko, Canadian and Kingfisher) covers Kingfisher, Canadian, Blaine, and Dewey; and the MERGE sits between them across McClain and Grady. The deeper Anadarko Basin proper extends west through Custer and Dewey.
These plays target stacked intervals — Woodford, Meramec, Osage, Springer, and others — so a single tract can have multiple horizontal targets. Oklahoma also uses forced pooling, which affects how unleased owners are developed and paid.
